Sanibel Pool House Reconstruction

Built To Withstand Southwest Florida's Coastal Environment

A Complete Structural Rebuild Designed For Long Term Resilience

Following significant damage to the existing structure, our client needed a pool house that would not only restore functionality but also meet today's stringent coastal construction standards. Located on Sanibel Island, this project required careful planning, engineered structural design, and precise execution to ensure the rebuilt structure could perform in one of Florida's most demanding environments. Working closely with the project's engineered plans, our team completed the full structural concrete and masonry scope, rebuilding the foundation and wall systems to meet current hurricane, flood, and coastal building requirements while maintaining a focus on providing value paired with long term durability.
Creating A Strong Foundation For The Future

STRUCTURAL CONCRETE RECONSTRUCTION

The project began with the demolition and removal of the existing slab system. Throughout this phase, special care was taken to protect existing underground utilities while preparing the site for reconstruction.

Once demolition was complete, our team constructed a new structural concrete system designed to provide the strength and stability required for the coastal environment. The scope included reinforced concrete footings, pile cap integration, thickened slab edges, reinforced slab sections beneath masonry walls, and placement of a new six inch structural slab reinforced throughout with engineered steel reinforcement.

Every component was installed according to engineered specifications to create a solid foundation.

Precision Masonry Construction Built To Engineered Standards

REINFORCED CMU WALL INSTALLATION

With the structural slab complete, construction moved into the masonry phase of the project. Our team installed a complete system of reinforced eight inch concrete masonry unit walls designed to integrate seamlessly with the structural framing system.

The wall assembly incorporated engineered vertical and horizontal reinforcement, grout filled reinforced cells, bond beams, and carefully constructed structural openings throughout the building. Each element was installed according to plan to ensure the finished structure met the performance requirements established by the project’s engineering team.

The result is a durable masonry system designed to provide strength, stability, and longevity while supporting the overall structural integrity of the building.

Meeting The Demands Of Coastal Construction

HURRICANE AND FLOOD RESISTANT DESIGN

Building on Sanibel Island presents unique challenges that require careful attention to both structural design and code compliance. Located within a high wind coastal flood zone, this pool house reconstruction was completed in accordance with current Florida building codes and engineered requirements intended to enhance resilience against severe weather conditions.

From reinforced concrete components to engineered masonry construction, every phase of the project was focused on improving structural performance while helping the building withstand the environmental demands commonly experienced throughout Southwest Florida’s coastal areas.

Quality Craftsmanship From Demolition Through Completion

A STRUCTURE BUILT FOR LONG TERM PERFORMANCE

This project highlights our team’s ability to execute highly detailed structural concrete and masonry work from initial demolition through final construction. By combining careful planning, experienced craftsmanship, and strict adherence to engineered specifications, we successfully delivered a code compliant structure designed for long term durability in a challenging coastal environment.

The completed pool house now provides this facility with a stronger, more resilient structure built to modern standards.
